The Perfect Spring Wedding

Emma Jo and Max chose the most incredible venue for their Spring wedding: Triple J Manor House. The grounds were perfectly manicured, offering the perfect backdrop. Emma Jo had all of her immediate family members dress in all black; this allowed an incredible cohesion for her photos (which are SUPER important, given that Emma Jo is a well-established wedding photographer.)

The details at this wedding were super intimate and very thought out: a custom seating chart, hand-sourced vintage glassware, personalized table numbers, a Polaroid station, a ring-warming ceremony, a bouquet dedication, heart-felt speeches, and my personal favorite...a flower grandma.

You could honestly FEEL how much love Emma Jo and Max have for each other. When prepping both the bride and groom for thier first look, they both mentioned how excited they were to see each other. While Max was being walked to the front of the property, Emma Jo caught a quick glimpse of him and I could see the happy tears begin to form in her eyes. During the exchanges of their private vows, you could see them both in utter awe of each other.

At any wedding, there are slight hiccups that end up becoming a laughable story the next day. Sharing a couple that were special to Emma Jo's wedding:

  1. Her wedding dress was left at home. The good news is-we caught this early, and two angel bridesmaids were able to go to the brides home to retrieve it (thank you Lily & Zoe!)

  2. Her blue hydrangeas wilted in her welcome sign and sweetheart table. This flower was really important to the overall look Emma Jo was wanting to achieve. I made 4 phone calls to local grocery stores and floral shops: no one had them. I drove 30 minutes to the closest Trader Joes, and they were also out. I was determined to find these flowers for Emma Jo, so I drove down a neighborood close to Trader Joes, spotted a home that had a blue hydreagea bush, knocked on their door and explained the urgengy. $20.00 and a hug later, I had 12 beautiful blue hydrangea heads in hand, and started back to the venue.

The day was honestly perfect, and seeing a fellow-wedding vendor cry so many happy tears and be so happy and at peace all day honestly warmed my heart.

Emma Jo, thank you for letting me play a small part in your big day.
